AKP Phnom Penh, July 08, 2026 -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn received here on Wednesday a farewell call from Philippine Ambassador H.E. Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo, marking the successful completion of her diplomatic mission in Cambodia. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the meeting, H.E. Prak Sokhonn congratulated the ambassador on her tenure and commended her contributions to strengthening Cambodia-Philippines relations. He highlighted her role in facilitating the official visit of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet to the Philippines in February 2025 and the state visit of Philippine President H.E. Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. to Cambodia in September 2025, along with other high-level exchanges. The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed his readiness to co-chair the 5th Cambodia-Philippines Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation next year, which will coincide with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The two sides discussed cooperation in defence and security, trade and investment, agriculture, tourism, education, and people-to-people exchanges, reaffirming their commitment to further deepening bilateral ties. Ambassador Mayo praised Cambodia's continued progress in economic development, diplomacy, tourism, digital transformation, infrastructure, and social development despite global uncertainties. She also thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their support throughout her mission. H.E. Prak Sokhonn also briefed the Ambassador on recent developments along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
