Dien Bien Province Collects and Consolidates Remains of Fallen Soldiers Based on Citizen Information

Dien Bien Province, located in northwestern Vietnam, is continuously carrying out activities to collect, identify, and consolidate the remains of fallen soldiers based on information provided by citizens. On the afternoon of September 21, the Dien Bien Provincial Steering Committee for the Search, Collection, and Identification of Martyrs' Remains, along with representatives from the Dien Bien Phu Ward People's Committee, collected and consolidated one additional set of fallen soldiers' remains from private land within the ward. This activity is driven by valuable information provided by local residents. Dien Bien Province has, in the past, collected the remains of many fallen soldiers through similar initiatives and strived to identify them. These efforts are positioned as crucial endeavors to honor the nation's benefactors and console the grief of their families. Under Vietnam's one-party system led by the Communist Party, the state places significant importance on honoring and showing gratitude to "revolutionary contributors" and fallen soldiers who contributed to socialist construction and national defense. The collection and commemoration of remains are recognized as national undertakings.
