Takeo Provincial Health Department Holds Meeting to Enhance HIV Case Finding and Treatment
The Takeo Provincial Health Department, in collaboration with the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STDs, convened a meeting to strengthen HIV case finding and treatment efforts across the province, aiming for enhanced coordination and efficient care delivery.
The Takeo Provincial Health Department, in collaboration with the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STDs, has organized a meeting to enhance the effectiveness of HIV case finding and treatment within the province. The meeting focused on integrated approaches for finding, managing, and connecting HIV-positive individuals to care services across the province's operational districts. The event, held on Friday, September 5, 2026, at the Prey Kabbas Operational District Administration Hall in Takeo Province, was presided over by Mr. Phan Van, Director of the Provincial Health Department, along with Dr. Kao Em Chitra, representative of the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STDs, and Dr. Ti Sovath, Deputy Chief of the Prey Kabbas Operational District Health Office. Officials from all operational district health offices in the province, development partners, and other stakeholders also attended. During the meeting, Mr. Phan Van highlighted that the session focused on reviewing the progress and outcomes of past activities, identifying challenges, sharing best practices, and discussing solutions to set future directions. The aim is to ensure more effective and timely discovery, referral, and management of HIV-positive cases. He encouraged technical officers and all operational districts to continue strengthening their sense of responsibility, teamwork, and efficient work implementation, emphasizing early detection, timely management, and quality connection to care and treatment services. This contributes to reducing new HIV infections and improving the well-being of the residents of Takeo Province. Mr. Phan Van further stated that the meeting was organized to strengthen cooperation among stakeholders and enhance the efficiency of finding HIV-positive cases, as well as managing and connecting them to care and treatment services in a timely and effective manner.
