Magnitude 7.7 Earthquake in Philippines Triggers Minor Tsunamis in Indonesia; Buildings Damaged, Evacuations Urged
A massive magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck southern Philippines, triggering minor tsunamis in Indonesia's northern coastal areas. Nine Indonesian regions recorded tsunami waves up to 75 cm, causing damage to 53 buildings. The Philippines reported at least 32 deaths and over 100 injuries.
