Cambodia and Vietnam have agreed to promote the implementation of a new economic development model centered on technology and innovation. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation across various sectors including economic and transport infrastructure connectivity, trade, and security.
Cambodia and Vietnam have agreed to effectively promote the implementation of a new economic development model, with technology and innovation at its core. This agreement was announced following the official and friendly visit of a high-level delegation from the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, held from July 27 to 29, 2026. Both nations concurred on strengthening cooperation across a wide range of sectors. These include economic and transport infrastructure connectivity, sharing new economic development experiences centered on technology and innovation, as well as trade, economy, security, national defense, combating cross-border crime, tourism, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), innovation, education, health, and agriculture. This cooperative relationship is expected not only to bring peace and development to both countries but also to contribute to building peace, stability, and prosperity throughout the region.
