NA Chairman Urges 'Revolution' in Legal Information Access

Vietnam's National Assembly (NA) is calling for a "revolution" in how legal information is accessed, signaling a strong will to reform legal frameworks and promote digitalization. Discussions at the NA have focused on areas such as AI-driven automation of customs procedures and the refinement of rules concerning land acquisition, compensation, and valuation. These efforts aim to create a more efficient and accessible legal information system for the public. Key legislative proposals include a draft law to standardize fragmented customs documents into digital data, enabling AI to process and analyze information for automated customs clearance. This initiative is part of a broader push to streamline administrative processes and enhance trade facilitation. Furthermore, lawmakers are deliberating on revisions to laws related to the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, military and defense matters, and the dissemination and education of law. The latter is particularly focused on leveraging advanced technologies like AI to improve legal accessibility for citizens. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has instructed ministries, agencies, and localities to adhere strictly to Party and Government resolutions and plans, ensuring timely and high-standard completion of all tasks. This directive underscores the Party's commitment to efficient governance and improving public welfare. In terms of international relations, ambassadors from various countries, including Laos, Japan, the Philippines, China, and South Africa, have acknowledged Vietnam's growing international standing, its independent foreign policy, and its dedication to peace, cooperation, and sustainable development. This highlights Vietnam's active role in the global community. The NA's push for legal reform and digitalization is a crucial component of Vietnam's strategy to balance economic growth with improved public services and governance under its one-party system.
