Tourist Lost on Ba Den Mountain Rescued After 7 Hours

A 23-year-old male tourist became lost on Vietnam's southern Ba Den Mountain after he voluntarily entered a restricted area while descending. Rescue teams located him after seven hours and safely brought him down the mountain. Around 7 a.m. on September 3, the tourist, a resident of Binh Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, went missing near support number 5 of the Hoa Dong - Tam An cable car line while descending from the summit to Ba Pagoda, after he entered a forbidden path. Upon receiving the report, the Management Board of Ba Den National Tourist Area immediately deployed a rescue team. By approximately 2 p.m., rescue forces reached the victim and assisted him in safely descending to the foot of the mountain. The Management Board advises tourists to adhere to permitted routes. Hikers should assess their health before their journey, prepare adequate drinking water, light snacks, personal medications, and necessary equipment. It is recommended not to climb alone but to go in groups, inform relatives of the itinerary, and arrange to descend before dark. If experiencing fatigue, dizziness, or exhaustion, tourists should not push on but find a safe spot and contact authorities for assistance. This is not the only incident at Ba Den Mountain recently. On the evening of September 1, another tourist fainted while traversing the power pole route, between support numbers 50 and 60. Rescue forces provided on-site first aid and brought the individual down the mountain before transferring them to a hospital. Standing at 986 meters, Ba Den Mountain is the highest peak in the South, attracting young people for weekend treks alongside its cable car system.
