Cambodia Urges Swift Resolution of Local Issues to Mitigate Political Impact

In Kampong Speu province, Cambodia, swift action on various local issues has been urged. Ms. Khun Khunty, head of the working group for Kampong Speu province, instructed the teams responsible for commune support to resolve issues promptly during a meeting of the commune support working group held on the afternoon of July 26, 2026, at the Kampong Thom Royal Hotel conference hall in Kampong Thom province. Ms. Khun emphasized that this is not a trivial matter if not addressed and contained in a timely manner. Therefore, it is imperative to go down to the grassroots level, study the root causes of the problems, and identify them accurately to review and discuss with the working group for resolution, even if the issues are minor, as they can affect the morale and spirit of supporters at the local level. Currently, it is necessary to re-examine the loopholes that affect the party's popularity and could severely impact the leadership and our responsibilities. Thus, today's meeting reflects the progress of each commune and the key elements that require measures for resolution. Furthermore, the working group is required to specify the number of teams engaged in activities to ensure quality and results as expected, not just quantity, which is the primary point that our leadership desires. Ms. Khun expressed strong hope and confidence that our local-level working group will remain strong and achieve brilliant results in the future.
