Cambodia Issues Over 30,000 Land Titles, Enhancing Citizen Rights and Livelihoods

Cambodia has distributed over 30,958 land titles across 31 villages in Banteay Meanchey province. This initiative is aimed at securing citizens' legal rights to their land and fostering stability in their lives and livelihoods. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, Say Sam Al, stated that land registration and the issuance of ownership certificates are crucial activities directly impacting citizens' lives, safety, and futures. Legally recognized ownership, he explained, reduces the risk of land disputes and enhances confidence in the effective use of land. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that addressing land issues and ownership rights is a top priority for the government, with the Prime Minister himself showing deep concern for the welfare and living standards of the people. He also highlighted the necessity of cooperation between local authorities, technical officials, and citizens to ensure transparency, accuracy, and efficiency in land registration processes. This issuance of titles is part of the government's ongoing efforts to resolve land issues and strengthen the security of citizens' property rights, by organizing the land registration system to be more orderly and compliant with the law. The certificates issued represent not just a document, but the acquisition of legal clarity, security, and safety for family assets, serving as a foundation for future living, investment, and the improvement of family livelihoods. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and other provincial officials.
