Vinh Long Upgrades Passenger Port Infrastructure to Boost Tourism and Logistics

Vinh Long province in southern Vietnam has initiated infrastructure upgrades for its passenger port. On September 18, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Vinh Long province, in coordination with Focus Travel Group, jointly held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of temporary facilities at the Vinh Long Passenger Port. This project aims to strengthen the province's role as a hub for tourism and logistics. Vinh Long province has been focusing on economic growth and infrastructure development in recent years, and the renovation of the passenger port is part of these efforts. Under its single-party system, Vietnam prioritizes economic growth and actively attracts foreign investment. Infrastructure development, in particular, is considered crucial for economic progress, and the expansion of transportation networks is essential for streamlining domestic logistics and attracting tourists. Furthermore, Vinh Long province is advancing regional development across various sectors, including promoting green electricity supply and sustainable production, cooperating with the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City to enhance medical capacity, and making progress in combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing. These initiatives are aligned with the Vietnamese government's policies aimed at the comprehensive development of Vinh Long province. The infrastructure development of the passenger port is expected not only to revitalize the local economy but also to enhance convenience for both domestic and international tourists, creating new business opportunities. While Vietnam has strong economic ties with China, it is also striving to balance its geopolitical position while pursuing economic growth and building international relationships.
