Vietnamese Businesses Enhance Skills for Global Supply Chain Integration

On July 30, the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Promotion and Investment Center (ITPC), in coordination with the Swiss Import Promotion Programme, organized a training session themed "Skills for Participating in International Trade Fairs and Caring for Potential Customers." This event aims to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese businesses, particularly young entrepreneurs, in the international market. In recent years, Vietnam has increased its presence in global supply chains, with many companies aspiring to expand into international markets. However, a lack of expertise in international business practices, effective approaches at trade fairs, and building relationships with potential clients has posed challenges for some firms. This training session is designed to address these issues and provide practical skills for businesses to succeed on the global stage. ITPC officials emphasized that for Vietnam's sustainable economic growth, it is essential for businesses to be deeply integrated into international value chains. They highlighted the importance of quality control, adherence to international standards, and effective marketing strategies, expressing hope that this training would serve as a valuable resource. Vietnam, a socialist republic under a one-party system, has achieved remarkable economic growth by deepening its integration with the global economy in recent years. The development of its manufacturing sector and export expansion are key drivers of this growth. China's geographical proximity and historical context have always made its relationship with Vietnam a crucial element in Hanoi's foreign and economic policy. Simultaneously, Vietnam is strengthening ties with the US and the EU to diversify its supply chains. Against this backdrop, the training session is expected to be a concrete step for Vietnamese enterprises to further enhance their competitiveness in the international arena and play a more significant role in global supply chains, contributing to the further sophistication of Vietnam's economy and its standing in the international community.
