MANILA, Philippines – Senator-judge Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Wednesday denied filing a perjury case against self-confessed Davao Death Squad member and former police officer Arturo Lascañas during the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte. The issue was raised after defense counsel Mark Vinluan presented a news report claiming Lacson intended to sue Lascañas for perjury following the latter’s retraction of parts of his testimony in the extrajudicial killings investigation.
