Speaker emphasizes the need for studies to resolve farmers' problems

Members of the Farmers and Farmers Affairs Committee need to conduct detailed studies and analyses to resolve the problems faced by farmers on the ground, said Speaker of the People's Assembly, U Khin Ri. He made these remarks on July 9 during a meeting with members of the Farmers and Farmers Affairs Committee at the parliamentary affairs office. It was stated that the Farmers and Farmers Affairs Committee needs to conduct detailed studies and analyses to resolve issues related to inputs that farmers are currently facing, timely receipt of agricultural loans, obtaining appropriate paddy prices, land disputes, shortage of agricultural labor, climate change, natural disasters, and the cycle of debt. Furthermore, it was stated that cooperation and assistance are necessary as the government is also giving special attention to farmers' affairs. Therefore, it is necessary to review and analyze the processes of amending and supplementing laws related to farmers and to achieve progress. Speaker U Khin Ri added that when the committee reviews laws concerning the welfare of farmers and farmers, it needs to study and analyze to ensure that provisions such as providing inputs at affordable prices, stabilizing crop prices, ensuring crop storage systems and markets, and providing climate-based agricultural advisory services are fully included so that farmers and farmers can fully enjoy their socio-economic lives.
