Cambodia Directs Improvement of Public Services in Provinces: Progress Meeting Held in Banteay Meanchey's Mongkol Borei District

In Mongkol Borei district, Banteay Meanchey province, northwestern Cambodia, on July 25, 2026, Mr. Chea Cheng, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and head of the government's working group for the district, emphasized the importance of addressing citizen issues during a semi-annual progress review meeting. The meeting, held at the Mongkol Borei district hall, was attended by the provincial governor, deputy governors, provincial council members, and representatives from relevant ministries and local authorities. Mr. Cheng praised the achievements of the first half of 2026, particularly the implementation of public forums designed to directly understand the concerns and challenges of the residents. He further instructed the working group and local authorities to continue addressing citizen requests and challenges with greater diligence, initiative, and effectiveness. He stressed that public service must be delivered with a high sense of responsibility, promptness, and transparency, stating that citizen satisfaction is the most valuable reward for the government. "Going to the grassroots is not just a reporting meeting; it is a bridge connecting the government and the people. All requests and challenges raised by citizens in public forums must have concrete solutions that meet their needs," Mr. Chea Cheng added. The meeting also actively discussed the work report for the first half of the year and set key work directions for the second half of 2026, focusing on strengthening social security and order, promoting local development, and further improving the living standards of the people.
