Vietnam's Tax Sector has celebrated its 81st anniversary (September 10, 1945 – September 10, 2026). On this occasion, Deputy Minister of Finance Cao Anh Tuấn visited the Tax Department to offer congratulations. The Deputy Minister highly praised the sector's efforts and achievements in revenue management, administrative procedure reform, and the transformation of tax management methods. Specifically, the upgrading and modernization of information technology (IT) systems are being accelerated to comply with new regulations. This is seen as part of the Vietnamese government's digitalization strategy, aiming to enhance the efficiency and modernization of tax administration. Furthermore, to support taxpayers, explanatory sessions in a livestream format are being conducted, aiming to improve taxpayer convenience and strengthen compliance. The Tax Department is also exchanging experiences in tax management for large enterprises with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), aiming to build a tax administration aligned with international standards. Strengthening risk management in invoice management and introducing early identification and warning systems are considered measures to prevent tax evasion and fraudulent activities. In Vietnam, under its one-party system, securing stable tax revenue is fundamental to fiscal management amidst continuous economic growth. With recent rapid economic development, enhancing the efficiency and transparency of tax administration has become an urgent issue, and IT investment and international cooperation are considered crucial measures for this purpose. In its relations with China, while economic ties are strong, international cooperation in taxation could also contribute to strengthening Vietnam's position in the global supply chain.
