Cambodia to Deploy 4,150 Observers for 2026 High School Exams
Cambodia's Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) has selected 4,150 volunteer observers for the 2026 High School Graduation Examinations, scheduled for August 10, to ensure transparency and fairness. The ACU lauded the Ministry of Education's examination system and aims for its continuous improvement.
The Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of Cambodia has selected 4,150 volunteer observers for the upcoming 2026 High School Graduation Examinations, scheduled for August 10, 2026. This initiative is part of the ACU's work plan to monitor the examination process and ensure its transparency and fairness. According to the press release from the 12th National Anti-Corruption Council (NAC) meeting of the 4th mandate, held on the afternoon of July 29, the ACU's team will directly participate in the observation from the stage of printing and packaging examination papers, which are organized by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. The press release further stated that the ACU highly values the examination system implemented by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, describing it as highly effective and continuously strengthened to ensure an examination process that is transparent, just, and adheres to the spirit of "those who know will pass." In addition to exam monitoring, the ACU processed, analyzed, and made decisions on a total of 57 complaints received in July. The head of the ACU also reported on several situations related to online scams. Furthermore, 137 public officials declared their assets and liabilities. This group includes 59 newly appointed officials, 2 officials who declared after leaving their positions, and 76 others who declared due to resignation, completion of term, or retirement. The ACU also participated in observing 86 public procurement projects from 29 procurement units and continued field operations in various locations based on requests from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and other ministries.
