Vietnamese AI Solutions Reach Semi-Finals of Au Lac Grand Prize

Fifteen artificial intelligence (AI) solutions developed in Vietnam have been selected for the semi-finals of the Au Lac Grand Prize, which offers a top prize of $1 million. These solutions are developed and owned by Vietnamese entities, aligning with the award's objective to foster sovereign AI created by Vietnamese people. The selected AI applications cover a wide range of sectors, including legal, medical, scientific research, manufacturing, energy, and digital infrastructure. This move is seen as part of Vietnam's broader strategy to enhance its autonomy in AI technology development and boost its competitiveness both domestically and internationally. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT, stated, "The Au Lac Grand Prize aims to create sovereign AI for Vietnamese people," underscoring the ambition to nurture Vietnam's AI ecosystem and elevate the standing of Vietnamese AI on the global stage. AI technology is a crucial component in driving Vietnam's digitalization and modernization efforts. The government has been increasing investment in AI research and development. The selection of candidates for this award is expected to serve as a testament to the achievements in nurturing domestic AI talent and technological innovation, thereby accelerating the development of Vietnam's AI sector in the future.
