Jakarta's Security Crucial for Indonesia, Says Metro Jaya Police Chief
The Metro Jaya Police Chief stressed that maintaining security in Jakarta, the capital, is crucial for the stability of Indonesia as a whole. Approximately 11,000 participants attended a rally to call for national unity and peace in the capital.
Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Komjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri called for the protection of Jakarta during the "Jaga Jakarta untuk Indonesia" (Guard Jakarta for Indonesia) National Assembly held at the National Monument (Monas) plaza on Saturday (8/8). "Guarding Jakarta means guarding Indonesia," stated Komjen Asep Edi. The National Assembly, initiated by the Polda Metro Jaya, was attended by approximately 11,000 participants, including members of the TNI and Polri, mass organizations, online motorcycle taxi drivers, and laborers. The event was a momentum for togetherness to strengthen unity and maintain Jakarta as a safe, comfortable, and conducive place. "Through the National Assembly, we build collective strength among the government, TNI-Polri, and all layers of society to maintain security, order, and unity," said Komjen Asep Edi. "From Jakarta, we bring the spirit of mutual cooperation and care for the creation of a safe, peaceful, and conducive situation," he added. Finally, Komjen Asep Edi reiterated his call to all parties to guard Jakarta. "Together, let's Guard Jakarta for Indonesia. Greetings, Guard Jakarta," said Komjen Asep Edi. Representatives of the participants in the National Assembly responded: "For Indonesia!"
