Warning issued against fraud using "Green Village" project name

The Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Department of Rural Development, has announced that cases of fraud are occurring through social media, exploiting the name of the "Green Village" project. According to the ministry, it has been observed that some Facebook and TikTok accounts are using the name of the "Green Village" project and are attempting to commit financial fraud by manipulating photos of the Department of Rural Development's offices, logos, staff, record photos of project fund disbursements in villages, and record photos of training sessions using Photoshop, the ministry announced. The "Green Village" project is aimed at reducing the poverty rate in rural areas by increasing employment opportunities and family income for rural residents, and the selection of project villages is carried out transparently by representatives from various parliaments, relevant organizations, and the Township Planning and Implementation Committee (TPIC), it is known. Furthermore, it has been announced that for villages where the project will be implemented, field visits are conducted to explain the project, a "Green Village" project working committee is formed, and project funds are disbursed directly to the village, with the villagers themselves managing them, so members do not need to pay any money. The ministry has notified that funds for the "Green Village" project are not disbursed through social media such as Facebook and TikTok, and therefore, special attention should be paid to avoid falling victim to financial fraud. The ministry also informed that the "Green Village" project is being expanded annually based on the availability of funds, and if there are villages that wish to implement the "Green Village" project, they can contact the respective Township Department of Rural Development for procedures.
