Phnom Penh Imposes Traffic Restrictions Around Wat Phnom for Community Fair

Phnom Penh, Cambodia – On September 23, 2026, the Phnom Penh Municipal Administration will implement temporary traffic restrictions around Wat Phnom. This measure is in place to facilitate the organization and execution of the community festival, the 'Temple Fair,' scheduled to take place from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM on the same day. The festival is expected to attract approximately 700 national and international participants. To ensure smooth operations and maintain public safety, order, and security, authorities will restrict traffic around the rotary of the Wat Phnom Cultural and Historical Site. The aim is to prevent traffic congestion, and citizens are urged to avoid traveling on the affected roads during the specified hours. The Phnom Penh Municipal Administration is coordinating with relevant departments, including the police, gendarmerie, the Doun Penh district administration, and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, to ensure the event proceeds safely and orderly. Normal traffic flow will resume after the temporary restrictions are lifted. This event is intended to foster community interaction and welcome visitors from both within Cambodia and abroad.
