Yangon, July 10 Due to the Myanmar Army's continuous bombing with fighter jets in the southern part of Myawaddy Township, Karen State, the security situation along the Thai-Myanmar border has become tense, and the Thai army and security authorities have issued a security alert for residents in the border area today. Today, July 10, the Myanmar Army has been conducting intense and continuous aerial bombings from last night until this morning in the Waole and Minlatpan areas of Myawaddy Township on the Myanmar side. Consequently, the Thai army has set up security checkpoints near Mae Khong Kin village in Mae Sot Township, Tak Province, Thailand, along the Thai-Myanmar border, and is intensifying border security, it has been learned. According to a report from the Thai security forces, this morning, four military aircraft dropped four bombs on a location near Minlatpan village in Myawaddy Township. As the bombing site was only about one kilometer away from Mae Khong Kin village in Thailand, local residents were urgently warned via loudspeakers to take shelter in bomb shelters and safe places. Furthermore, Thai authorities have issued a security alert urging residents along the Myanmar-Thailand border and in surrounding areas to avoid unnecessary travel to open areas and near the border, as fighting continues to intensify along the border. They are also advised to prepare important documents, medicines, and essential supplies in advance for potential emergency evacuation. The Thai security forces are closely monitoring the border situation and will immediately inform the public in case of any emergency. They are also urging everyone to earnestly follow the instructions of the responsible authorities. Around 11:30 AM today, July 10, the military council's fighter jets further bombed the positions of the revolutionary forces opposite Mae Khong Kin village with 2,000-pound bombs, resulting in intense explosions, it has been learned. Local residents stated that around 7:00 AM today, Myanmar standard time, a jet fighter of the military council also came and bombed the Waole area. "This morning, we could hear the sounds of explosions from the Myawaddy fighting from the Mae Sot side. The explosions were very strong and caused tremors. I would say these are the most intense explosions in over five years since the military coup," said a young political activist who is taking refuge in Mae Sot. Additionally, around 10:30 PM on July 9, three jet fighters of the military council carried out bombing attacks on the Yekone area above the Lekayko region, according to local sources. Due to the continuous aerial attacks in the southern part of Myawaddy Township, the security situation on both sides of the border remains tense, and Thai authorities continue to enhance security measures along the border.
