Maynilad to enter PSEi, Converge out
Maynilad Water Services Inc., a concessionaire for the west zone, will join the 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) starting August 3, replacing Converge Information and Communications Technology Solutions Inc. Maynilad qualified for early inclusion due to its strong post-IPO share price performance and market demand.
West zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. is set to enter the 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) starting next Monday, August 3, 2026, taking the spot of Converge Information and Communications Technology Solutions Inc. Maynilad’s inclusion comes after it passed the eligibility requirements for early inclusion after it made its debut on the local bourse last November. “MYNLD is only the third company to qualify for early PSEi inclusion since we introduced this rule in 2021,” PSE President and Chief Executive Officer Ramon Monzon said in an emailed statement. “MYNLD’s stellar post-IPO share price growth and the demand for its stock allowed the company to easily meet the market cap and liquidity criteria for index membership,” he added. Converge will then slide into the PSE MidCap index, which will also see the entry of Philex Mining Corp., and the removal of Asia United Bank. Shares of Maynilad closed Monday at P19.68 apiece, down 2 centavos from last Friday’s finish of P19.70 per share, while those of Converge gained 37 centavos to close at P10.36 from P9.99. Other changes include having Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. in the PSE Dividend Yield (PSE DivY) to complete its 20-member composition, after the removal of Robinsons Retail Holdings INc. from both the MidCap and DivY indices on July 16, 2026. Robinsons Retail is set to delist from the PSE after the Gokongwei family, through JE Holdings Inc., increased its stake in the company by acquiring nearly all of its remaining publicly held shares.https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/money/companies/994054/robinsons-retail-to-delist-from-pse-after-gokongwei-buyout/story/ For sectoral indices, the industrial index will have three new members: Maynilad, Basic Energy Corp., and Top Line Business Development Corp. They will take the spots of Concepcion Industrial Corp., Pryce Corp., and Vitarich Corp. The financials index will see the entry of the Bank of Commerce and the National Reinsurance Corporation of the Philippines, as Lopez Holdings Corp. will be part of the holding firms index while The Philodrill Corp. will be added to the Mining and Oil index. Villar-led companies Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc. and VistaREIT Inc. will be removed from the property index, while AllDay Marts Inc. and AllHome Corp. will be dropped from the services index. “This July 2025 to June 2026 review still followed PSE’s existing index policy. The selection process for the next review of indices, which covers the January to December 2026 period, will utilize our revised index criteria that puts premium on the liquidity of a stock,” Monzon said. — BM, GMA News
