Vietnam Integrates More Proactively, Responsibly into Global Affairs: FPA Medal Awarded to Top Leader

General Secretary and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, To Lam, has been honored with the prestigious Foreign Policy Association (FPA) Medal. Noel V. Lateef, President and CEO of the FPA, emphasized that the award is a tribute to both the Vietnamese leader personally and to a Vietnam undergoing robust transformation and integrating more deeply, proactively, and responsibly into regional and global affairs. This recognition highlights Vietnam's growing role on the international stage and its commitment to multilateralism. A UN official noted that Vietnam can offer valuable lessons to support more effective multilateralism. Furthermore, Vietnam's top leader has departed for the UNGA 81 high-level debate and a state visit to Canada, signaling the nation's engagement in global discussions and its efforts to strengthen bilateral ties. In parallel, substantive cooperation is driving Vietnam-US relations, according to a US professor, underscoring the importance of collaboration in various sectors. As Vietnam continues its economic development under a one-party system, it is strategically deepening its international engagement, balancing its relationships in the region, particularly with China.
