Cambodia Explores Maritime Transport Cooperation with Singapore Firm

On the afternoon of September 18, 2026, H.E. Peng Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport, received Captain Raymond Peter, Managing Director of BSM Singapore (Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement), and his delegation, accompanied by Oknha Lim Bun Sour, Chairman of the Executive Board of AZ Group. The meeting was also attended by ministry leaders and relevant technical officials. The purpose of this meeting was to explore investment and cooperation opportunities in the maritime transport sector, including cruise ship management, water transport technology, seafarer training, and ship repair services. Cambodia is seeking to enhance and modernize its maritime transport capabilities in line with its economic development. Areas of focus include improving cruise ship reception facilities to attract tourists and increase logistical efficiency, as well as adopting advanced technologies. Singapore, with its established role as a maritime hub in Asia and its advanced technological expertise, is a key potential partner in this endeavor. This meeting marks a significant step towards the development of Cambodia's maritime transport infrastructure.
