Cambodia Estimates Over 11.37 Million Voters for 2026 Election Registration

The National Election Committee (NEC) of Cambodia has announced the estimated number of citizens eligible for voter registration for the upcoming elections in 2026. According to Deputy Secretary-General Chu Chanan, the number of eligible voters aged 18 and above is estimated to be 11,374,953, with 5,954,781 being female. He stated this is a positive outcome resulting from good cooperation with relevant authorities and ministries, and the efforts of election officials nationwide. An estimated 194,823 citizens will turn 18 years old, and the projected number of voters to register in 2026 is 412,345. The anticipated number of polling stations for the 2026 elections is 24,353. The NEC emphasized that this information, including the estimated voter numbers, polling station counts, and locations of voter registration and polling stations, will be publicly disseminated on September 26 via the NEC website (www.nec.gov.kh) and the mobile application "NEC KH." Furthermore, provincial election committees and commune/sangkat election committees will be tasked with duplicating these lists and posting them publicly at commune/sangkat halls and in designated public areas. Political parties, associations, NGOs, election observers, and the media have the right to request lists of voter registration and polling stations for one or more communes/sangkat from the NEC after their public dissemination, upon payment of production costs. For reference, the official voter list for 2025 contained 10,162,232 registered voters.
