Workers on leave to show proof of 25% family remittances and 2% taxes when applying for permission to travel abroad

Workers on leave will be required to present proof of 25% family remittances and 2% tax payments when applying for permission to travel abroad, according to an announcement by Safe Migration under the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population. According to information released on September 18, workers on leave will need to present 10 items when applying for permission to travel abroad. These items include a passport, front and back copies of a valid Overseas Employment Worker Identity Card (OWIC), a copy of a valid work permit/visa, a page of the passport (copy) with immigration stamps for departure and arrival issued by the Immigration Department, a copy of the flight ticket, a copy of the employer's permission letter, detailed evidence of 25% family remittances sent legally (starting from the date of the order announcement, August 28, 2024), proof of payment of 2% income tax, an embassy recommendation from the relevant country's embassy, and an arrival notification form. For the detailed evidence of 25% family remittances sent legally, it is stated that proof of remittances made from August 8, 2024, the date the order was issued, must be presented.
