Over 3,200 Benefit from Free Korean Medical Aid in Kampong Thom Province

Kampong Thom Province, Cambodia – July 26, 2026 -- Over 3,200 residents in Kampong Thom Province expressed their profound gratitude for the free medical services provided by a volunteer medical team from the Republic of Korea. The two-day initiative, held on July 24th and 25th, 2026, was made possible by Prime Minister Hun Manet's facilitation, allowing the Gyeongsangbuk-do Volunteer Doctors Association to offer their services. On July 25th, the second day of the medical mission, Suos Yara, a Member of Parliament for Kampong Province and President of the Asian Cultural Council (ACC), accompanied by other MPs and provincial officials, visited the Kampong Thom Provincial Referral Hospital. They met with citizens receiving free consultations and treatment, who conveyed their happiness and appreciation for the Cambodian government's commitment to their well-being. Residents also extended their well wishes to the volunteer doctors from Gyeongsangbuk-do, wishing them good health and success in their future humanitarian endeavors. Through the "People's Health Representative Program," the volunteer medical team offered a wide range of medical services, including general medicine, dentistry, gastroscopy and colonoscopy, gynecology, pediatrics, ophthalmology, acupuncture, and blood tests utilizing modern medical equipment. Free medications were also provided to ensure quality and effective treatment for all patients. In addition to medical aid, the volunteer team donated three air conditioners to the Kampong Thom Provincial Referral Hospital to enhance the healthcare environment. Humanitarian aid, such as school supplies, children's clothing, toys, and dental hygiene kits, was also distributed to the hospital and residents, contributing to local health and well-being.
