Cambodia: Ministry of Justice and Poipet Provincial Administration Sign MOU on Dispute Resolution Cooperation
Cambodia's National Authority for Dispute Resolution (ADR) under the Ministry of Justice has signed an MOU with the Poipet Provincial Administration to cooperate in dispute resolution. This aims to enhance the speed and quality of out-of-court dispute settlements.
Poipet Province, Cambodia – On June 29, 2026, the National Authority for Dispute Resolution (ADR), operating under the Ministry of Justice, and the Poipet Provincial Administration signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) concerning cooperation in dispute resolution outside of formal judicial proceedings. The MOU aims to enhance the quality, efficiency, and speed of dispute resolution within Cambodia. Specifically, upon request from the provincial administration, the ADR will prepare agreements for disputes successfully resolved through mediation and reconciliation. The provincial administration will also submit dispute cases from citizens to the ADR, and the ADR will visit the province to resolve local disputes. Furthermore, the provincial administration will provide data on dispute resolution to the ADR, which will be used as a basis for policy formulation and strategic planning. Both parties will also cooperate in public awareness campaigns about the benefits of dispute resolution and in jointly organizing meetings, seminars, training programs, and other events related to mediation and reconciliation mechanisms. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Chin Malin, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Justice and Vice Chairman of the ADR, Mr. Mok Ra, Chairman of the Provincial Council, and Mr. Koy Rida, Governor of Poipet Province. Dr. Chin Malin praised the MOU as a result of close cooperation between the two institutions.
