President Joko Widodo accepted the resignation and expressed his highest thanks and appreciation for Warjiyo's dedication. According to Secretary of State Prasetyo Hadi, Warjiyo's resignation letter was submitted to the President on Sunday, July 26. The government will proceed with the dismissal process in accordance with the Bank Indonesia Law, with the President issuing a decree. Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti will automatically assume the duties of acting governor. Hadi stated that Damayanti would carry out all responsibilities as interim governor. She was accompanied by BI Deputy Governors Aida S. Budiman, Filianingsih Hendarta, Ricky Perdana Gozali, and Thomas A. Muliatna Djiwandono at a press conference. Prasetyo urged all parties to continue their duties within their respective authorities. Bank Indonesia remains responsible for monetary policy, while the government, through the Ministry of Finance, handles fiscal functions. He also emphasized that coordination between the central bank and the government would be maintained during the leadership transition period.
