East Kalimantan Governor Emphasizes 'Momentum' for Regional Development

East Kalimantan Governor Rudi Masaud stated that the Regional Government Achievement Award event would serve as a momentum for Kalimantan's development. Masaud made this statement during his speech at the Regional Government Achievement Award 2026 Batch II for the Kalimantan Region in Balikpapan on Thursday (3/9). "We hope that this Regional Government Achievement Award in 2026 will not only be an award-giving event but also a momentum to strengthen our joint commitment in building the Kalimantan region," said Rudi. He also expressed hope that the event would generate commitments and concrete steps to strengthen current and future development in Kalimantan. The governor further noted that the event holds strategic significance as it brings together heads of regions from across Kalimantan. "We are indeed composed of five provinces, each with its own characteristics and potential, but we are within one interconnected territory," he said. "We hope Kalimantan will not grow as separate regions but as an area that strengthens and benefits each other," the East Kalimantan Governor added. Rudi also conveyed his gratitude to the Ministry of Home Affairs for organizing the event, which appointed the Institute of Public Administration (IPDN) as the organizer. Furthermore, Rudi emphasized that the award itself is not the ultimate goal but should serve as motivation for all regional governments. "To continue innovating in improving services and ensuring that development truly benefits all citizens," he stated. In this appreciation, 32 regions received awards in various categories. These categories included waste management and the environment, access and quality of health services, and residents' access to education services.
