Cambodia Urges Unity to Safeguard Peace and Economic Growth

Ke Kim Yan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party and head of the party's working group for Banteay Meanchey province, sternly urged party members and local authorities at all levels to unite to resolutely defend peace, political stability, and national sovereignty, which are indispensable foundations for national development. This was stated during a meeting with party officials, commune and village party branch members, and party youth in Svay Chek district, Banteay Meanchey province, on the morning of Saturday, July 18, 2026. During the meaningful event, Mr. Ke Kim Yan conveyed his deep care and sincere gratitude to all compatriots who have consistently placed unwavering trust and strong support in the leadership of the Cambodian People's Party throughout all government mandates, enabling the party to fully serve the nation and its people. He also expressed high praise and appreciation for the tireless efforts of all relevant authorities, party members, the private sector, religious institutions, and all citizens in Banteay Meanchey province, especially the local authorities, relevant units, working groups, and party members in Svay Chek district. "The spirit of patriotism and strong solidarity is the driving force that enables us to successfully overcome all major obstacles, especially in assisting displaced persons along the Cambodia-Thailand border and in heroically fighting to defend the territory from past invasions by the Thai army," Mr. Ke Kim Yan added with pride. Furthermore, Mr. Ke Kim Yan highlighted significant economic achievements, stating that under the energetic, clear-sighted, and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, and by continuing the correct political path of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the outstanding advisor to the Cambodian nation, President of the Cambodian People's Party, and President of the Senate, Cambodia has maintained excellent economic stability and growth. Specifically, an economic growth rate of approximately 4.2% was achieved in the first half of 2026, with commendable development across all sectors. To continue preserving these achievements and ensure sustainable development, Mr. Ke Kim Yan outlined work directions and instructed party members and local authorities at all levels to focus on core tasks. They must resolutely defend peace, political stability, and social order at all costs. They must unite to protect the nation, religion, the King, and national sovereignty. They must continue to support and resolutely defend the legitimate government of Cambodia. They must further promote and effectively implement the "Safe Village, Commune, District" policy to provide warmth and security to the people.
