Amyotha Hluttaw Session:20th day of second regular session held

The 20th day of the second regular session of the Third Amyotha Hluttaw was held at 10:00 a.m. on July 22nd, at the Amyotha Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw, with 202 out of 209 eligible parliamentarians in attendance. According to the agenda, the session began with the question-and-answer segment. U Thein Myint (Mon State Constituency No. 11) asked whether there are plans to upgrade the Mawlamyine (Hinthar Roundabout)–Kyaikmaraw Road and the Kyaikmaraw–Kyunywa Road. Daw Mar Lar San (Shan State Constituency No. 2) asked whether there are plans to upgrade the 30-mile inter-township road connecting Pindaya and Yatsauk to an 18-foot-wide nylon asphalt road. U Zaw Myint (Mon State Constituency No. 10) asked whether there are plans to repair the Attaran Bridge (Chaungnhakhwa ) as soon as possible. U Nyan Tun (Tanintharyi Region Constituency No. 9) asked whether there are plans to upgrade the inter-village connecting road between Maunghlaw village tract and Mingoke village tract in Kyunsu Township to a concrete road. U Yan Naing Win (Ayeyarwady Region Constituency No. 1) asked whether there are plans to upgrade three sections of the inter-district main road in Kyonpyaw District, Ayeyarwady Region, as soon as possible. U Myint Thein (Kayah State Constituency No. 3) asked whether there are plans to upgrade the main asphalt road up to the Loikaw–Pinlaung–Aungban junction in Kayah State into an 18-foot-wide asphalt concrete main road. Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant provided answers to these questions. Following that, the Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw submitted a proposal to form the Myanmar-Thailand Parliamentary Friendship Association comprising 10 members, with U Chit Swe (Ayeyarwady Region Constituency No. 10) as Chairman and Defense Services Personnel Representative Brigadier General Than Tun Aung as Secretary, and obtained the Hluttaw's approval. Next, Union Election Commission member U Khin Zaw introduced the Seventh Bill Amending the Amyotha Hluttaw Election Law to the Hluttaw. Afterward, Daw Cing Ngaih Man (Chin State Constituency No. 11) read out and explained the Bill Committee's report regarding the Seventh Bill Amending the Amyotha Hluttaw Election Law. The Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw then announced that the Hluttaw representatives wishing to debate the bill could register their names, it’s reported.
