Drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation training opened in Myawaddy town

The opening ceremony of the drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation training was held in Myawaddy town, Karen State, Myanmar-Thailand border, at the office of the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, in Ward 5, Myawaddy town, at approximately 10:30 AM on August 5. The drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation training course is for 90 days and was organized by the Karen State Branch of the Drug Addicts Rehabilitation Association (Myanmar). In his opening speech, U Ye Lin Maung, Chairman of the Myawaddy District Administration and Development Council, welcomed the young and old participants who have come to attend the training, saying that they are welcomed to rebuild their lives with a new mind and body after escaping the mire of drugs. He also stated that vocational skills will be taught for their lives and that the relevant departments will provide necessary assistance. U Kyaw San Oo, Chairman of the Karen State Branch of the Drug Addicts Rehabilitation Association (Myanmar), said, "As this is a drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation training, we will teach mental and physical aspects as well as vocational skills. The training period is 90 days. It was learned from them that 29 men and 1 woman, adults and young people who want to change their lives with a new mind and body, attended today's training and will learn to master vocational skills for their future.
