Five killed including a Colonel, Yak-130 fighter jets hit in attack on Taungoo Air Base, MOD releases

AYEYARWADDY TIMES September 11 The People's Defence Force (PDF) has announced that it launched a drone attack on the main military air base of the military council in Taungoo Township, Mandalay Region (Taungoo), killing five members of the air defense forces, including a Colonel, and damaging Yak-130 fighter jets. This was a precise drone attack carried out on September 10 as an anti-terrorism operation against the Taungoo military air base, which has been conducting airstrikes on the public. During the operation, PDF drone units were able to precisely attack the locations where the military's Yak-130 fighter jets were parked, and in ground engagements, they were able to eliminate five military personnel, including Colonel Myo Hlaing Oo of the Air Defense Force Base (7), the PDF stated. It is reported that three revolutionary comrades sacrificed their lives in this battle. This operation was jointly carried out by the People's Defence Force, the Minzhan District Command, the Minzhan District Regiments (4) and (10), the Minzhan District Drone Force, the Mandalay District Regiment (3), the Kyaukse District Regiments (2) and (4), the People's Defence Committees of Taungoo, Sinthe, and Ngazun townships, and the Shwebo District Command Regiments (1) and (2). The PDF claims that the military is spreading propaganda that the Mandalay International Airport, located opposite the air base, was attacked, in order to cover up the attack and losses at their main military air base. The People's Defence Force has warned that it will continue to accelerate its offensive attacks on the military's key military centers, including air base headquarters, in line with military strategy, to eradicate the military dictatorship.
