Sihanoukville Receives 18 QIP Investment Project Applications Totaling Approximately $49 Million

The Sub-committee for Investment of Sihanoukville Province has received 18 applications for Qualified Investment Project (QIP) registrations, with a total investment capital of approximately $49 million USD in 2026. On September 10, 2026, Mr. Long Dimong, Deputy Governor of Sihanoukville Province, led relevant technical officials to inspect the site for a requested plywood manufacturing factory project, located in Ou Oknha Heng village, Kampong Som city, Sihanoukville province. Mr. Long Dimong, Deputy Governor, stated that as the Vice Chairman of the Sub-committee for Investment of Sihanoukville Province, he has thoroughly understood and resolved the challenges faced by investors. He instructed local authorities and relevant ministries and departments to facilitate investors by maintaining good relationships, coordinating procedures, and providing regular consultations and advice. He also urged existing investors to actively attract other investors to invest in Sihanoukville province. The Deputy Governor also requested company representatives to prioritize local citizens for employment and to properly provide social security services (B.S.S.) for employees, workers, and staff. He also urged them to carefully consider potential environmental, sanitation, and social issues that may arise. This influx of investment applications underscores Sihanoukville's ongoing efforts to attract foreign direct investment and bolster its status as an economic hub.
