Ex-Rescuer Kills Ex-Girlfriend and Her New Partner in Fatal Hit-and-Run; Drugs Found

A horrific incident occurred in Bangkok where a former rescue volunteer allegedly killed his ex-girlfriend and her new partner by ramming his pickup truck into their motorcycle. Police reported that a white pickup truck collided with a black Honda PCX motorcycle on Ratchadaphisek Road, near the Military Service Department, resulting in the immediate deaths of the rider, Mr. Jetpol (45), and his passenger, Ms. Narissa (24). The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Mr. Songpol (28), a former rescue volunteer, sustained severe injuries and was transported to the hospital. The pickup truck had a sticker from 'a certain foundation' on its side. Additionally, methamphetamine pills and ice (methamphetamine) were found hidden under the victims' motorcycle and have been seized as evidence. Initial interviews with relatives revealed that Ms. Narissa and Mr. Songpol had been in a relationship for about a year but broke up over two months ago. Despite the breakup, Mr. Songpol reportedly engaged in violent behavior towards Ms. Narissa and sent threatening messages. Ms. Narissa had previously filed a report at the Prachachuen Police Station. On the day of the incident, Mr. Songpol allegedly saw his ex-girlfriend with Mr. Jetpol on the motorcycle. Enraged, he pursued them in his pickup truck, reportedly activating his siren, before ramming the motorcycle at a U-turn point near the Military Service Department. The Prachachuen Police Station stated that Mr. Songpol will be investigated for murder and other charges once he has recovered.
