Cambodia's Ministry of Interior Disciplines Six Immigration Officials

Cambodia's Ministry of Interior has issued a first-time administrative warning to six senior immigration officials for violating disciplinary regulations in their duties. The decision was announced in a directive signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha, dated August 20. The six immigration officials who received disciplinary action are: 1. Colonel Sin Sokvisal (ID: 54010), Deputy Chief of the Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport Immigration Post, First Entry/Exit Management Department. 2. Lieutenant Colonel Veng Sokmony sak (ID: 58545), Deputy Chief of the Second Foreign Worker Inspection Office, Foreigners Department. 3. Lieutenant Colonel Sok Theara (ID: 82648), Deputy Chief of the Immigration Information Technology Department's Network Office. 4. Major Hian Liang Heng (ID: 72096), Deputy Chief of the Foreigners and Refugees Management Office, Foreigners and Refugees Department. 5. First Lieutenant Seng Sangly (ID: 90059), Officer at the Phnom Den International Border Gate Immigration Post, Second Entry/Exit Management Department. 6. Second Lieutenant Thuk Chanda ro (ID: 96042), Officer at the Techo International Airport Immigration Post, First Entry/Exit Management Department. The Ministry of Interior's directive stated that these six individuals were disciplined for violating the regulations of the National Police Force in their professional duties. This measure is seen as part of Cambodia's efforts to maintain discipline within its immigration system and ensure transparency in managing foreign nationals. With the increase in foreign workers and investors accompanying economic development, the efficiency and proper management of immigration processes have become pressing issues for Cambodia. The current disciplinary action signifies the government's stance against misconduct and breaches of discipline.
