The incident took place around 10:30 PM on July 4th, near Svay Thom village, Ouddambang 2 commune, Sangke district. The victim has been identified as Luob Chanin, a 34-year-old male. According to local authorities' reports, Chanin was cycling across National Road 5 at night when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle. After the collision, the vehicle sped away from the scene and its whereabouts are unknown. Traffic police stated that based on the scene's evidence, it is estimated the vehicle was traveling from west to east. The accident is believed to have occurred as Chanin attempted to cross in front of the vehicle. Authorities are currently investigating to identify the vehicle and locate the driver who fled the scene. On the morning of July 5th, specialized officials collaborated with local authorities to investigate and survey the accident site, but no clues regarding the vehicle have been found yet.
