Hyundai Investigates Ioniq 6 Fire After Collision in West Jakarta

JAKARTA - PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia is investigating the incident of a Hyundai Ioniq 6 that caught fire after an accident on Jalan Letjen S. Parman, Slipi, West Jakarta, Friday morning, September 11. Hyundai Motors Indonesia Chief Operating Officer Fransiscus Soerjopranoto said Hyundai's team had coordinated with vehicle owners and related parties to trace the chronology and cause of the incident. "Currently, the Hyundai team has coordinated with customers and related parties, and will conduct further investigations to understand the chronology of the incident," said Fransiscus, Saturday, quoted from Antara, Sunday, September 13. According to the Head of the Operations Section of the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service, Syaiful Kahfi, the accident occurred at around 05.04 WIB. The car with the police number B 18 YZK lost control while passing on Jalan Letjen S. Parman, then hit the busway separator. After the collision, sparks and smoke appeared from the vehicle before the car caught fire. Firefighters deployed three pump cars and 15 personnel to handle the fire. Hyundai has not concluded the cause of the fire. The company is still waiting for the results of the investigation to find out whether the fire was caused by the impact of the collision or other factors on the vehicle. "Hyundai Motors Indonesia is also concerned about the incident that occurred on the customer's vehicle. We also appreciate the quick response of the authorities and related parties in handling the situation," said Fransiscus. He emphasized that the handling was carried out according to the applicable procedures.
