Cambodia Labor Ministry Continues Dispute Resolution for Yida Garment Workers

Cambodia's Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training is continuing to facilitate the resolution of one remaining demand from workers at Yida Garment Manufacturer Co., Ltd. on September 9, 2026. Three out of a total of four demands have already been resolved. Upon receiving the information, the Department of Labor and Vocational Training of Kandal Province collaborated with local authorities to mediate the situation promptly. Three demands concerning the payment of overtime meal allowances, holidays during the Pchum Ben festival, and the recalculation of wages and bonuses for August 2026 have been successfully resolved, with the participation of worker representatives. Regarding the outstanding demand, which involves a request for the company to dismiss a professional communication assistant due to inappropriate language used on Facebook, ministry officials and local authorities are continuing discussions with the involved parties to find a suitable solution. The ministry urges all parties to maintain calm, patience, and to participate in resolving the issue peacefully to preserve harmony in professional relations and public order.
