Cambodia Holds Training on Administration and Relief Fund Management for Veterans and Retirees Association

A training session on "Administrative and Relief Fund Management Operations" for the Veterans and Retirees Association of Cambodia was held in Kampong Speu province on July 27, 2026. The event was co-chaired by H.E. Chea Sidara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation and Deputy Secretary-General of the Association, and Dr. Touch Poliva, Deputy Governor of Kampong Speu Province. The training was attended by heads and deputy heads of provincial departments and units, representatives of the three armed forces, and trainees responsible for administration and relief fund management from various districts across the province. Dr. Touch Poliva conveyed the greetings of the provincial leadership to all participants. He emphasized the significant importance of the training in enhancing the capacity and understanding of frontline officials at the district level regarding administrative tasks and the management of relief fund budgets. This, he stated, is crucial for ensuring transparency, efficiency, and the absence of delays or excessive bureaucracy in providing assistance to distressed families of veterans and retirees. H.E. Chea Sidara reiterated the Cambodian government's high regard for improving the living standards and welfare of veterans and retirees, who have rendered invaluable service to the nation. He further described the relief fund management work not merely as routine administration but as a humanitarian endeavor and a noble duty to repay the sacrifices of those who have given their all for the country. Looking ahead, H.E. Chea Sidara expressed his aspiration for a new phase in member services following this training. He stressed the need for integrity, clear data, and swift disbursement of funds through relief fund procedures, ensuring timely support aligned with the actual hardships faced by bereaved families, and preventing any complaints or delays.
