Although the Military Council is planning to carry out reconstruction and development projects in Falam, Chin State, it has been learned that displaced people remain skeptical and distrustful due to the ongoing military tensions within the township. This criticism from displaced people follows the 'Falam Township Reconstruction and Development Meeting' held in Hakha on May 11, which was attended by the Military Council-subordinate Chin State administration, religious leaders, and local elders. "The main issue is livelihood. Our houses were destroyed and the city was ruined; what are we supposed to do for a living if we return now? Another thing is security—there is no certainty about when something might happen again. What would we do if we had to flee once more?
