'Cyber-thug' Khanh Sky Arrested for Public Disturbance

Nguyen Van Hoi, 34, known online as 'Khanh Sky', has been arrested on charges of intentionally causing public disorder by the Bac Ninh Provincial Police. The arrest warrant, approved by the regional prosecutor's office, came five days after Hoi and Ho Van Khoa visited the workshop of popular TikToker 'Vua Quat' and livestreamed threats and insults. Hoi, from Hung Yen province, is known for his vulgar and abusive social media videos, often adopting a flippant tone during livestreams. Before his arrest, he posted a video mockingly asking to be given a suspended sentence and to be placed in a 'cool jail cell'. On July 31, police had also issued a search notice for Khoa to investigate allegations of public disturbance. On July 29, Khanh Sky, along with Khoa and others, went to the workshop of Tran Dinh Tiep, the man behind the 'Vua Quat' TikTok channel, in Tam Giang commune, Bac Ninh province. During a 15-minute livestream, the group hurled insults and threats at Tiep. Khanh Sky was seen walking around the workshop, loudly demanding Tiep come out to meet him, and stated during the broadcast, 'At worst, I'll go to jail, why be afraid?' The livestream attracted thousands of viewers and numerous interactions. Hoa Van Khoa is also a known figure on social media, referred to as a 'cyber-thug'. He has prior convictions for extortion, public disorder, and property damage. In 2021, he was accused of attempting to shoot another online personality, Duong Minh Tuyen, due to a personal dispute.
