Cambodian People's Party Admits 656 New Members, Bolstering Local Organization Ahead of Elections
The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) held a ceremony to welcome 656 new members in Sangke Nikom District, Kampong Chhnang Province. This move aims to strengthen local party organizations and expand its support base in preparation for upcoming commune council and general elections.
On September 13, 2026, the Party Committee of Sangke Nikom District, Kampong Chhnang Province, organized a ceremony to officially welcome 656 new members into the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) in Sangke Nikom District. The event was presided over by His Excellency Chhay Rithisen, a member of the CPP Central Committee and First Vice Chairman of the Party's Working Group for Base Areas in Kampong Chhnang Province, as well as Chairman of the Party's Working Group for Base Areas in Sangke Nikom and Touk Phos Districts. The grand ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Party's Working Group for Base Areas in Sangke Nikom District, the Party Committee of Sangke Nikom District, the Party Committees of all four communes (Krang Lvea, Khna Chhmaar, Tlok Vien, and Tbaeng Khpos), and approximately 760 members in total. To commence the proceedings, Mr. Chuon Channa, Chairman of the CPP Committee of Sangke Nikom District, delivered a welcoming report, highlighting the status of the Cambodian People's Party and the activities of the party's working group for base areas in Sangke Nikom District. Subsequently, a representative of the party member candidates read out the application for membership in the Cambodian People's Party. Concurrently, the Deputy Chairman of the Party Committee of Sangke Nikom District read out the decision to admit a total of 656 new party members from the Party Committees of the four communes: Krang Lvea, Khna Chhmaar, Tlok Vien, and Tbaeng Khpos, all within Sangke Nikom District. Following the reading of the decision, representatives of the newly recognized members took the stage to pledge their commitment to following the party's policies and respecting its statutes and internal regulations. After the reading of the decision and the pledges, His Excellency Chhay Rithisen presented the decision letters for admitting new members to 15 representatives of the new members as a symbolic gesture. He expressed his admiration and high appreciation for the party's working group at the district and commune levels, and the district and commune party committees, for their excellent performance of their roles and duties, which have led to numerous new achievements. He specifically praised their efforts in continuously increasing the party's membership, forming a strong support base that will ensure victory in the upcoming 6th mandate commune/sangkat council elections in 2027 and the 8th mandate general elections in 2028. On this occasion, His Excellency also extended a warm welcome to the 656 new members, stating that their decision to join the life of the Cambodian People's Party, the only party that has assisted the Cambodian people in all circumstances, is a correct one. He emphasized that all newly admitted members must strive to act in accordance with the party's political program and statutes, build good relations with the people, and work to disseminate the party's political program and the nation's laws to the populace. He further urged them to maintain internal solidarity and unity, safeguard party secrets, and diligently study to enhance their capabilities and virtues in order to fulfill their duties to the nation and motherland. His Excellency further stated that all party members must continue to support and promote the values of peace and the "Win-Win" policy, be grateful to the founder and sole guide, and practitioner of the "Win-Win" policy, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, who brought about complete national peace, unity, and territorial integrity. He stressed the absolute necessity of preserving "peace" at any cost. Furthermore, His Excellency advised the attendees to continue strengthening the party's solidarity and internal unity, based on internal regulations, party statutes, and the principles of respecting the minority opinion by the majority, and collective leadership with individual responsibility.
