The operation of a new ferry boat aimed at supporting the lives of residents and students has commenced in Dong Kambet Commune, Sandan District, Kampong Thom Province, Cambodia. On July 7, 2026, Lieutenant General Som Son, Commander of the Kampong Thom Military Operations Zone and Deputy Head of the Government Working Group for Sandan District, inspected the ferry service on the Sen River, which provides free passage for residents and students. Lt. Gen. Som Son instructed local authorities and the ferry boat operators to ensure proper technical maintenance for the longevity of the vessel and to strictly guarantee the safety of all passengers. This ferry boat was donated by Prime Minister Hun Manet and his wife, Kampong Thom Provincial Governor Noun Phalath and his wife, and other relevant officials. It enables swift and safe transportation for the residents and students of Dong Kambet Commune. Previously, crossing the Sen River relied on small boats or fishing vessels, posing safety risks and inconveniences to the community.
