Conjoined twin girls successfully delivered at North Okkalapa General Hospital

Two conjoined twin girls were successfully delivered via C-section at North Okkalapa General Hospital in Yangon on July 4, the Ministry of Information announced. Daw Ppa Hlaing, 32, a resident of Chain village, Hlegu Township, Yangon Region, was admitted to North Okkalapa General Hospital as an emergency case via Hlegu General Hospital on July 4. It is reported that two conjoined twin girls were successfully delivered via C-section at around 7 p.m. on the same day. According to the statement, as the infants were premature and conjoined twins, they were placed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at North Okkalapa General Hospital, and necessary treatments were provided in a timely manner. It is also known that on July 8, they were transferred to the 550-bed Children's Hospital (Yankin) and are receiving care and treatment in the NICU. Furthermore, to provide the necessary medical treatment for the conjoined twins and to arrange for the possibility of performing surgical procedures, a medical team comprising specialists from North Okkalapa General Hospital and the 550-bed Children's Hospital (Yankin), led by the superintendent of North Okkalapa General Hospital, has been formed, and treatment is continuing. The children's health condition is reported to be good.
