Indonesia Pushes for Strengthening NTPD 112 Emergency System

Director General Safrizal of Indonesia's Ministry of Home Affairs is strongly pushing for the strengthening of the emergency call system, NTPD 112. He emphasized that the system is not just a number, but its rapid response capability to emergency calls from the public is crucial. NTPD 112 serves as an integrated gateway to emergency services across Indonesia, forming the basis for quickly contacting emergency agencies such as the police, fire department, and medical services. Its effectiveness largely depends on the "response speed" from the call to arrival at the scene. Therefore, continuous efforts are required in the operational system, communication infrastructure development, and operator training. This push aims to improve public order and rapid initial response capabilities during disasters within Indonesia, an initiative directly linked to the safety and security of every citizen's life.
