Wife of Head of State visits Silk Village in Vietnam

Upon arrival at Van Phuc Village (Silk village), Daw Kyo Kyo Hla, wife of the Head of State, was warmly welcomed by Madam Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and officials of Van Phuc Village (Silk village). Subsequently, Daw Kyo Kyo Hla, wife of the Head of State, toured Van Phuc Village (Silk village), where Madam Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and officials of Van Phuc Village (Silk village) explained the processes of traditional Vietnamese silk weaving. Van Phuc Village is one of Vietnam's most famous traditional silk weaving villages, and the tradition of silk weaving in this village has a history of over 1000 years, recognized as an important cultural heritage of Vietnam's traditional weaving industry. It is possible to learn about the stages of silk production, from silkworm farming to silk thread production, thread preparation, weaving on traditional looms, dyeing, and finally, the creation of silk products. It is also possible to learn how artisans have passed down weaving skills through generations and how the industry has developed in connection with tourism. Furthermore, it is a place with the highest cultural heritage where one can learn about the history of Vietnam's silk industry and the preservation of craftsmanship. Afterwards, Daw Kyo Kyo Hla, wife of the Head of State, was served traditional Vietnamese hot tea by Madam Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
