Eight youths arrested, including Harry and Thadda, for stabbing and beating two students at San Chaung Link due to Telegram prank

Eight youths, including the main perpetrators, were arrested by the San Chaung Township Police Station on the night of September 21 for stabbing and beating two IT students from Info Myanmar College (IMC) in front of the San Chaung Link night market on Barcar Road, San Chaung Township, Yangon Region. The incident began when an IT student from IMC sent a prank message via Telegram to Shwe Yi Wadi (aka Thadda). Her boyfriend, Harry (aka Thuraing Tun), became displeased with this. Subsequently, Harry gathered his group of young associates and arranged to meet the two students in front of San Chaung Link. They then committed heinous acts, including stabbing them with knives, throwing stones, and collectively beating them. As a result of the attack, one IT student suffered a severe laceration to the head, while the other student was stabbed twice in the lung and lost consciousness on the spot. It is understood that both students, who sustained life-threatening injuries, have been urgently transported to Yangon General Hospital for medical treatment. Among those arrested were the couple, 18-year-old Harry (aka Thuraing Tun), who led the incident, and 18-year-old Shwe Yi Wadi (aka Thadda). The remaining six members of the group are youths aged between 14 and 21. Currently, the eight arrested youths are being prosecuted under the Penal Code at the San Chaung Township Police Station, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend "Ate Lay Lay," who was involved in the incident and remains at large.
