Wat Phra Mahathat Closer to World Heritage Status
Wat Phra Mahathat in Nakhon Si Thammarat is one step closer to becoming Thailand's ninth World Heritage Site after its nomination was recommended by a Unesco advisory body. If approved, it will be the first cultural heritage site in southern Thailand.
